How to use SpacePlanner

Basics
Open the editor, move around the plan and pick your units.
- Getting startedOpen the editor, learn what is where on the screen and draw your first room in a few minutes.
- Zoom, pan and fitZoom in and out, move the view around and bring the whole plan back on screen.
- Selecting and editingPick one item or many, then move, copy, group, align, lock or delete them together.
- Units (cm, m, ft-in)Choose metric or imperial units for the whole plan and type lengths in any format.
- Grid and snappingMake points land on the grid or on other walls, keep walls square, or place things freely.
- LayersHide or show furniture, dimensions, areas, wiring, the roof, reference images and the grid.
- Phones and tabletsDraw with your finger: the bottom toolbar, pinch to zoom, and panels that slide up from the bottom.
Drawing
Walls, rooms, openings, dimensions, labels and furniture.
- WallsDraw straight walls corner to corner, type exact lengths, and set thickness, height and corner join.
- Curved wallsDraw a curved wall, set its radius, or bend a straight wall you already drew.
- RoomsDraw a whole room in one drag: rectangle, L-shape, round or any shape, at an exact size.
- Doors & windowsPlace doors and windows on walls, then set the style, size, swing, hinge and sill height.
- Pass-throughs & archesCut an open gap in a wall: plain or cased opening, an arch, or a counter hatch.
- Dimensions & measuringWall lengths on the plan, which face they measure, typing a length, and extra dimension lines.
- Labels, notes & areasName rooms, style their labels, add notes with a leader line, and outline an area to measure it.
- Furniture libraryFind furniture and fixtures in the library, place them at real size, then move, rotate, resize, lift or swap them.
- Electrical plansPlace switches, outlets, lights and alarms, connect them with wires, and print an electrical plan with a legend.
- Lot, garden and outdoorDraw the property boundary and ground surface, then add patios, plants, trees, a pool and outdoor furniture.
Building features
Floors, stairs, roofs, raised and sunken floors, finishes.
- Floors & levelsAdd floors and basements, switch between them, and make each storey line up with the one below.
- StairsPlace a stair, shape it in the Stair configurator, give it finishes and connect it from one floor to another, up or down.
- RoofsStart a flat or pitched roof from your walls, or trace its outline, then pick the style, pitch and overhang.
- Sunken and raised floors, ceiling heightsSet a floor area higher or lower than the rest of the level, give it its own ceiling height, then add steps that fit the height difference.
- Slabs and balconiesDraw balconies and terraces, give them railings (automatic or drawn), and manage the automatic floor slab of each level.
- Finishes and materialsOne finish picker for floors, walls, stairs and furniture: pick a material or paint, then adjust scale, grain and tint.

Output
Print to scale, export files and import existing plans.
- Export & print (PDF)Download plans and elevations as PDF, PNG, SVG or a 3D model, true to scale on A4 to A0 paper, or save the whole plan as a SpacePlanner plan file.
- Areas & area scheduleNet room areas, gross floor area per floor and building totals, on the plan, in the Areas panel and in exports.
- Import & trace a planTrace over a photo or scan of a plan at its true scale, or paste plan JSON to build walls and rooms.
Account & sharing
Save your work, share a copy and start from an example.
- Saving and your accountGuest plans save in your browser; a free account keeps every plan, with version history.
- Sharing and collaborationSend a link that opens an editable copy, or share an exported PDF or image.
- Templates and examplesOpen a ready-made apartment, house, office or garden plan and change it to fit.
- LanguagesUse SpacePlanner in English, Español, Bahasa Indonesia, Deutsch, Polski or Italiano.
